== Usage ==
This template is used to display the [[Māori language|Māori]] [[International Phonetic Alphabet]] (IPA). The pronunciation is broken into individual phones so that they will have mouseovers to indicate pronunciation (the complete list is available at {{tl|H:IPAc-mi}}). All phones from [[Help:IPA for Māori|IPA for Māori]] are available. For anything outside that set, a different template should be used.

If <span class="IPA">[[Help:IPA for Māori|{{hover title|Unrecognized symbol|'''[unsupported input]'''|dotted=no}}]]</span> is displayed, it means that an unsupported input or non-existent sound file was used. Such instances are tallied at [[:Category:Ill-formatted IPAc-mi transclusions]], where they can be reviewed and fixed.

The first two variables can be used to indicate a prescript (e.g., <small>Māori pronunciation:</small>). All available flags are shown at {{tl|IPAc-mi/pronunciation}}. The named parameter {{para|audio}} may be used to link to an audio file.

Use a keyboard underscore <code>_</code> for a space between words. 

There are a maximum of 200 variables.
