Roscampus: Difference between revisions

The suburban coastal region north of Philaridon, called the Merchants' Coast, is one of the most affluent areas in all of Urcea. The Merchants' Coast communities sit on large coastal bluffs overlooking the bay and oceanic approaches to Philaridon, with most of the area having long sandy beaches facing southward.

Roscampus is firmly pro-[[Solidarity (Urcea)|Solidarity Party]], with Solidarity's [[Livio Iarnán]] winning two-thirds of the vote; in the [[2025 Urcean elections]], Solidarity won all but one of the province's 11 [[Concilium Daoni]] seats. However, residents of Roscampus have largely divergent political and ideological views from most of the rest of Solidarity. The people of the province are generally [[Guilds (Urcea)|guild]]skeptic and clasically liberal economically. Their ties to Solidarity are largely on cultural, regional, and federalist issues resulting from the identity of Roscampus as a "periphery" of Urcea descending from its Philaridon Republican identity. This enables the [[National Pact (Urcea)|National Pact]] to remain relatively competitive in elections where economic issues are the main political issue despite its centralist reputation. The Pact also regularly wins the single Daoni seat representing the affluent Merchants' Coast region, typically by a wide margin.
