It is best-known as having been the seat of government and ''de facto'' capital of the [[Kiravian Remnant]] from AD 1938 to 1984, and the administrative capital of the [[Kiravian reunification|reunified Kiravian Federacy]] until 1986. | |||
During the [[Kiravian Civil War]], the seat of the Federalist government moved about several times, and there were times when the different constitutional organs of the state were based in different cities. With the defeat of the [[Farravonian Counterrevolution]] and the final eviction of Federalist forces from [[Great Kirav]] in 1935, the seat of government definitively settled in [[Sirana]], where the Rump Stanora, the Federal Consistory, and the Basswood Emperor had already been evacuated to. However, it did not take long for exiled Kiravian officials to form a consensus that Sirana was not suitable as an ersatz capital. The chief complaints were that the city was too overcrowded with refugees, too vulnerable to damage from [[Odoneru hurricane]]s and tropical storms, and simply too hot. This consensus reached all the way up to the [[Executive College]], and Prime Executive Kæśek authorised the Secretary-General to produce a list of potential capitals.
