The SEQ-9 Laser Weapon System, also known as MEDUSA, is an F-type laser weapon developed by the Cartadanian Navy in association with Angelico and its subsidiary Allocca Electronic Systems. The weapon was installed on NMC Spitzer (DDG-91) for early testing in 2019, and with trials having proved better than expected, MEDUSA was subsequently approved for installation on the NMC Eloy Saldanha (DDG-92), NMC Roque Rocha (DDG-93), and NMC Adrian Ferrón (DDG-94). The system will continue to undergo trials at sea until 2028 when the Department of Defense and Department of the Navy will decide on deployment.
