The Wasi King is one of the most unique and distinguishable characteristics of Canespa. The idea behind the Wasi King is powerful as it is eternal. The Wasi King can be defined as an elected monarch from a political standpoint and an eternal Kānenaka from a religious and cultural perspective. First appearing as a concept in 1176 the Wasi King has, for the most part, existed as a part of Canespa and its culture since its introduction. Through this end the idea of the Wasi King leading Canespa is known as Wasiqana, and is sometimes used as a secondary name for the country. In the modern day the Wasi King has executive authority in Canespa. He is kept in check to a degree by the House of Union but can operate independently without approval from the House of Union during times of war and crisis. | |||
