Netansett is a {{wp|federation#De_facto_federations|semi-federal}} {{wp|assembly-independent republic}} under an {{wp|anocracy|authoritarian semi-democracy}}. The current form of government that runs Netansett is often described by many countries as an {{wp|autocracy|autocratic}} republic, which has been in power since 1840, it having succeeded the confederal Kiravic dependency of the [[Hukon League]]. The international community, specifically the [[League of Nations]] considers Netansett to have a "mostly fair" electoral system through various observations over the years, with voter suppression being surprisingly low despite the consistently low {{wp|voter turnout}}. Netansett is notable for being a highly-centralized federation, often being given the term "semi-federation" due to the high central government oversight. Netansett has also been criticized as being an {{Wp|ethnostate}}, in which non-Netanic individuals are traditionally viewed by both the citizenry and the government as bring transients, and thus have limited civil, political, and economic rights compared to their Netanic neighbors.

The Netanic culture has a long historical relationship with literature, ranging back from the first written accounts of oral traditions recorded in the 10th century.

Netansett has no {{wp|state religion}} as per the Constitution, mostly due to influence from the majority-Christian Kiravia when the Constitution was drafted in 1839, but there exists provisions that designate "the Netanic interpretation of the M'acunist faith" as "the rightful and national religion of the Netanic people from the forging of this document and onward to perpetuity". However, because of Kiravia's influence and, since 2010, because of the increasing influence of the Occident the M'acunist faith has largely fallen to the wayside in terms of it being the religion of the Netanic people, many of whom have embraced a form of secular nationalism as the importance of being of ethnic Netanic ancestry, even partially, became much more important to the Netansetts than adherence to a specific religious denomination. As such, it is in fact not unusual to find ultra-nationalistic Netansetts who are also highly-devoted adherents to the Catholic Church whether it be of the Coscivian Rite or of the rapidly-growing Latin Rite.

Due to the long term isolation of the Netanic people, Netanic M'acunism has developed into an almost sub-sect of [[M'acunism]]. Netanic M'acunism tends to be more in line with the Man School of M'acunist belief, but also possesses some characteristics from the other schools of M'acunist belief as well. In a development taking place during the Hukon League era when the Netanic people were under the rule of the Kiravian colony of Porfiria, Coscivian Catholic beliefs began to syncretize into the general practices and beliefs of the M'acunist faith due to M'acunism being less strict with its dogma and theology than most other religions. Because of the longtime influence of the Coscivian Catholic Church, the belief of Makuahine as the goddess of the earth, alongside belief in the Great Oneness, has largely been supplanted in favor of the veneration to a heavenly entity that has largely been inspired by the {{wp|Veneration of Mary in the Catholic Church|Virgin Mary}}, though there still exist many Netansetts whose beliefs are in line with the mainline of the Man School. This development is somewhat comparable to the syncretization of the veneration of the Virgin Mary into the [[Kapuhenasa]] faith and the rise of [[Marian Kapuhenasa]] as a religion in what is now southwestern [[Rumahoki]] in [[Vallos]].

Census-taking in Netansett happens once every five years since 1900, but the enumeration of race and ethnicity has been removed from censuses since 1940 after Netansett secured economic and political independence from Kiravia. International observers have theorized that the Netanic government has stopped enumerating based on race and ethnicity so as to obfuscate the fact that non-Netanic people are generally discriminated against with restrictions on civil liberties and political rights. According to the 2030 census, over 93% of the population are of Netanic nationality, meaning that that portion of the population are considered to be full citizens of Netansett. This, however, does not take into account the ethnic origins of a Netanic citizen, just the legal status of a given resident of Netansett. The remaining portion of the population are mostly Kiravians and other Occidentals who reside in Netansett, a majority of whom being advisors to the Netanic government on matters of Occidentalization and modernization policies. while the rest of whom are Occidental construction workers in charge of building up infrastructure in Netansett that meet the standards of the great powers of the Occident.

 

The economy of Netansett was traditionally based on subsistence agriculture, with a few actors in the economy growing {{wp|cash crops}} on very large estates for export; these cash crops represented the majority of Netansett's trade revenue. Since the dawn of the 21st century, however, the construction sector has been the largest part of the Netanic economy as major infrastructure continues to be built across the nation. These large projects, connecting villages and cities with modern highways and railways, were first funded with foreign aid but since [[2025]] have increasingly had private and domestic government capital funding construction. With construction has come new retail and real estate sectors, as cities have grown steadily since [[2002]] requiring homes and consumer goods. As the economy has shifted from rural agriculture to urban life, the GDP has doubled in approximately 20 years, with its 2030 GDP PC of $17,296 dwarfing many of its neighbors. The economic transformation has largely disrupted the traditional "big planter" class as the government has repossessed parts of the massive estates once common throughout the country, decreasing overall cash crop exports as the agricultural sector has declined. The discovery of major uranium reserves in the Cusinaut interior has also led to the creation of a major mining sector.

The Netanic economy is mostly deregulated in order to encourage continued economic prosperity.
