The Jupiter Independent School District is an independent school district based in the city of Jupiter in Lynnhaven County, Verona. Established in 1964 alongside the city, it serves all of Jupiter and is one of only two single-community school districts in the Palm Coast. The district operates 28 schools including 15 elementary schools, 8 middle schools, and 5 high schools.
History
Despite the law in Verona separating the school district from the municipality for which it serves, the incorporation of the city of Jupiter and Jupiter ISD was simultaneous. As a result, the boundaries for both the school district and the city are coterminous. Founded on 5 July 1964, Jupiter ISD carved out a portion of Lynnhaven ISD to create its present-day attendance boundary.
