The Floop-class submarine (SA) is a class of Stenzan submarines. It is the only class of diesel-electric submarines in active service with the Stenzan Navy. These ships are the most common submarine type in the Stenzan navy, and serve as a workhorse when it comes to Stenza's defense. Although Stenza mainly employs the Nuclear powered Hae-class Submarine as its long range attack submarine, Floops have been spotted in distant waters as well.

Design

The Floop-class design is based off the design of its predecessor, the main visual difference is the longer hull of the Floop when compared to its predecessor class. The Floop also includes a more efficient diesel drive, larger batteries, better soundproofing and other general enhancements.

Operational History

The Floops have had a long yet undistinguished career with the Stenzan navy, serving on both long range patrols and short range shore defense missiles. Although less capable and quiet than their Nuclear brothers, sailors take great pride in effectively using these "lesser" submarines while their brothers and sisters serve on "comfort cruises" in the nuclear boats.
