The Volin Preservatory Guard, most commonly known as the Volin militia, is a terrorist organization founded in Caldera due to the consistent mistreatment of Indigeno-Calderan people by the Gothic Volkspartei government. After the Volkspartei's loss of power, the Volin militia continued to attack the newly reformed Calderan government as they still saw it as "anti-Volin". This hostility has resulted in the loss of official state supporters, including Canespa in early 2034, and Bavogia prior to 2035.

History

Early Beginnings

The need for a Volin organization began in the early 1960s when Gothic police began to routinely abuse their power against Volin citizens, and Volins realized that they needed to have a way to protect themselves and show their oppression. So in 1961, the Organization for the betterment of Indigeno-Calderan peoples founded to organize protests and display opposition to Gothic control. The protests seemed to be ineffective, but it gathered public attention, so the Organization for the betterment of Indigeno-Calderan peoples continued to perform peaceful protests for decades.

In 1994, Big Eagle, a popular spokesperson for the OBICP , began working at a grocery store in a suburb of Neu Maessen as a manager. Later that same year, Gothic militias boycotted the store for not having any signs or listing products in Gothic. On December 13th, 1994, a Gothic militia assaulted the store with firearms and shot at Big Eagle while destroying everything in the store that had Volin text on it. Disgusted with these actions and fed up with being mistreated, Big Eagle used his connections in the OBICP to arm Volin citizens and organize attacks against Gothic grocery stores. Other leaders in the OBICP were unhappy about this decision to misappropriate the peaceful organization's resources, and tried to remove Big Eagle's power from the organization, this had the opposite effect, however, when a large portion of the organization split between Big Eagle and the original organization. A dispute erupted in the organization over whether peace or violence was better, and this dispute continued until 2001, when Big Eagle gathered people who supported him and established a formal armed militia for protests.

First Assault

The Volin militia's largest attack was in 2003, during the Siege of Little Caldera. Volin militia initially only protested with firearms, but this soon erupted into a full scale battle for several months. The battle ended in December of 2003 when all organizations that supported the militia turned tail and ran, and the militia itself was so low on resources that it negotiated peace with the Volkspartei.

Invasion of Bavogia

On January 11th, 2035, the Volin militia conducted a large scale invasion of Bavogia with the PGRC. This resulted in a 4 day standoff, which resulted in the Volin milita's expulsion from Bavogia, and loss of any official support from any state or semi-state actors.

Terrorist designation

The Volin militia was designated as a terrorist organization by Caldera after the 2003 revolt, with Prime Leader Karl Steinenkatz increasing the funding of police all over the nation and establishing martial law in big southeastern cities to prevent the Volin militia from spreading. Steinenkatz also tried to move soldiers into Bavogia but was blocked by local police and the provincial government. To work around this, Steinenkatz used the Little Caldera Police to chase the Volin milita in Bavogia, and this has led to continued conflict until 2034, when President LeMieux ordered the Little Caldera Police to halt any investigations outside of Little Caldera. After the Standoff at Tensee River, the Volin militia were forced out of Bavogia and the Bavogian Provincial Guard no longer supports them.
