Communism in Alshar goes back as far as 1910 when Lui Po created the Proletariat Army in the Ching Ky Alshar Republic. In 1915 the civil war was victorious for the communists which led to establishing the Kurul Union. These were the first instances of Alshari communism. The guerrillas in Bulkh and the communist government in Kandara are heavily supplied and funded by the SPCI.
