A candidate for the office must be twenty-five at the time of taking the oath of office, and must have been born in Asteria or to Asterian parents abroad. In order to run, all tax and banking records must be released to the public. The President is required to speak monthly to the Assembly of Asteria and take questions from members of the body, and to address the Congress of Asteria annually at the end of the year to review the status of the nation. The Armed Forces of Asteria are also under the command of the President, who serves as Commander-in-Chief. However, Congress has the power to declare war.
