The Supreme Court of Verona is the highest and final court in the courts of the Commonwealth of Verona. It resides inside the Javier Padrón Commonwealth Justice building in Georgetown, overlooking Civic Center Square along with City Hall. It also holds sessions in Sierra and Chesapeake, via its North Branch and South Branch, respectively. Its decisions are binding on all other Verona state courts. Since 1631, the court has issued many influential decisions in a variety of areas including torts, property, civil and constitutional rights, and criminal law.
It is the oldest continuously active judicial body in Cartadania. It was known as the Supreme Court of Appeals until 1940, when it was renamed the Supreme Court of Verona because it has original as well as appellate jurisdiction.
