The Cronan Commonwealth Development Organization (CCDO) is an international organization that was founded on 15 June 2031 for the purposes of cooperation between democratic (also called commonwealth) countries in central and northern Crona, and to prevent democratic backsliding after the end of the Deluge. The CCDO has X members, most of whom are independent states. Many states within the CCDO are associated diplomatically with Urcea or Alstin to various degrees.
Goals and purpose
The CCDO charter provides for its overarching purpose in its preamble:
The Organization, comprised of those nations in Crona who embrace commonwealth values and believe in the basic dignity of the human person, will actively work to protect those cherished values within its membership. The Organization will also enhance relations between nations and peoples who share those values.
History
The Deluge
The Deluge brought about a diplomatic and geopolitical revolution in northern Crona and Cusinaut, creating many new nation-states and destroying Varshan, the continent's traditional superpower. This complete realignment established Urcea, Alstin, Daxia, and Kiravia as the new major powers in northern Crona, and pit Urcea and Alstin against one another as rivals during the 2020s due to various differences. However, the end of the Deluge and gradual scale-down of interventions by both powers, together with shared interests in the ongoing occupation of Varshan, gradually began to warm relations between the two powers. Both countries were aligned in some respects with Arcerion, which served as an intermediary between both powers.
Democratic pivot
The peace having been established in Crona by 2030, Urcea and Alstin began to mutually explore a new organization which would work to improve relations between them as well as their various dependencies, allies, and protectorates in Crona. With the involvement of Arcerion, negotiations began to form the CCDO in late 2030.
