The Polynesian Pact is an organization that incorporates and oversees a number of agreements between nations that share the Polynesian culture.

History

The Polynesian Pact was announced as an incentive started by the Stenzan Government in early March, 2026. The goals of the organization were announced to "Further the Polynesian culture and those who embrace it through economic, cultural and defensive means". A cultural festival, educating all who are interested was announced to be held in the summer of 2026. Both the Kiravian territory of Seváronsa and Alstin Province of Azura were quick to sign up at a cultural level, being the first members of the Polynesian Pact.

Jinju, a Polynesian possession of Metzetta, joined the Polynesian Pact in 2028 after growing pressure to recognize the importance of the local heritage.

Daxia, once Stenza's colonial overlord, took steps to improve its relations with the members nations of the Polynesian Pact. After considerable investments into the organisations' infratructure, Daxia was invited to join as an observing member nation by 2029.

Description

The Polynesian Pact is not so much an agreement as it is an umbrella organization that oversees multiple agreements made between the Stenzan government and other member states, offering countries or territories that share the Polynesian culture to sign Economic, Cultural or even Defensive treaties with the Stenzan government. The organization itself was given ownership of multiple museums and cultural installations across Stenza, acting as an outlet that promotes both Stenzan and wider Polynesian culture across the globe. Individuals of Polynesian descent around the world are able to personally become members of the organization as well, gaining access to online resources and means of applying for education within Stenza.

Economical Goals

The Polynesian Pact's economical goals are to allow member states to come to agreements that allow mutually beneficial trade. The pacts goals are to allow both larger and smaller member states to benefit economically, allowing free trade between member nations. The Polynesian Pact, through the Stenzan Government, also offers both economical and educational aid to member states, with Stenzan education being open to the people of member states. Humanitarian development is a priority of the Polynesian pact, with goals of reducing poverty across Polynesian territories.

Cultural Goals

The Polynesian Pact's Cultural goals are the survival and preservation of Polynesian cultures, both in Polynesian nations and nations with Polynesian cultural groups. The Polynesian Pact offers partner nations a way to spread awareness of Polynesian culture and what it means, establishing culture centers and hosting cultural events in its member states. Members of the Polynesian Pact can benefit from discounted travel between member states, offering the opportunity to take in each member's culture by actually being there.

Defensive Goals

The Polynesian Pact recognizes that many smaller Polynesian nations and territories may not have a way of effectively defending them from major foreign threats if they should arrive, and as such offers a defensive agreement that unites signatory states in defending each other if they were to ever become subjects to foreign aggression. Signing states are invited to allow partner nations military access if they so wish, although this is not a prerequisite of signing the agreement. All signatory nations get the option to train with the Stenzan Military, and the military personnel of signatory nations are allowed to attend Stenzan military schools and other educational institutions.
