The engine produced 62 horsepower and was paired with a 3-speed manual transmission and drum brakes. The Type 1 was available as a sedan or convertible and was the basis for the Type 2 light truck and Type 3 van. The convertible was available starting in 1944, the Type 2 entered production the same year and the Type 3 was available from 1945.

The first 5 Type 1 models produced were set aside for special purposes; the very first was an indigo model presented to Emperor [[Anru Jan-Hu|Jan-Hu]] as a gift, the second was a tan model kept by Jaseon himself for personal use (it is this very car which can be seen in the Metzettan Transport Museum), the third was a black model given to X; the fourth a maroon model given to X and the fifth was another black model gifted to X.
