The '''Standard People's Compact Vehicle''' (SPCV) commonly known as the '''People's Bean''' or the '''Cardboard Car''' is a two-engine compact car intended for four occupants. Designed, manufactured and sold by the government owned '''Corummese Car and Automata Manufactory''' (COCAM). The republican government of [[Qiu Heng]] saw the need for a cheap, simple and inexpensive car that could be bought and operated by the hundreds of millions of Corummese who could not afford a car in the 1960's and that would be able to take advantage of the growing Corummese road network. Military engineers under lead designer Chen Dou  began work in 1963 and the final schematics were done by early 1965. The SPCV car has been in continuous production since 1965, with an estimated 70 million circulating in a number of nations in [[Alshar]]. The SPCV is especially ubiquitous in the streets of [[Mirzak]] where it is used predominantly as a taxi. The original design has received upgrades as car technologies have evolved making it much safer and reliable than when it was originally made.
