Operation Kipling was a series of wars fought by a coalition of nations led by Burgundie against the South Alshar ComIntern and various communist militias in Alshar from 1966-1983. It cemented Burgundies roles as a major player in global politics and reinvested Burgundie in the destiny of South Punth. It also, through war industry, launched some Alshari nations, like Xingkai'pei, firmly into the 20th century where it has been able to keep pace with many occidental nations.

As the Proletariat Army consolidated their control of Xingkai'pei the Corummese politicalos looked fearfully on but the government failed to take any significant action. As the 1940s rolled into the 1950s the newly formed communist Xingkaipese Union was declared and the Wei government was exiled to Corumm. There the Wei government attempted to drum up support for an invasion of their homeland and a their restoration. Still struggling to build its own stable "democracy" Corumm delayed any action against Xingkai'pei. Beyond this the Xingkaipese Union bore no ill will toward Corumm and focused its revolutionary communist agenda in other directions. For twenty years the peace remained uninterupted.
