The Island Nation Party previously known as the Thalassocratic Party, is a Kiravian political party that contends elections in the states of Uruvun, Crimea (Ixnay), Sakhalin, and the Austral-Itapau Islands. It advocates increasing the Federacy's strategic and economic power by acquiring an extensive network of island territories and port cities, especially in the Ixnay region.

It currently holds three seats in the Stanora and is a member of the Coscivian National Congress cadre.

Platform

The Island Nation Party's platform is based on the importance of sea power to national defence, international commerce, and an active foreign policy. It holds that overseas bases are essential for the projection of military power, and emphasises the utility of islands, especially strategically-located islands, for increasing the Federacy's regional and global reach. On the federal level, it supports increased military spending (especially for the Navy and Aircorps) and a hawkish realist foreign policy.

Territorial acquisition is central to the party's federal platform. It calls for Kiravia to obtain more island territories, treaty ports, and overseas naval and air bases in order to create a strong and effective support system for the Kiravian armed forces. The party is a strong and highly vocal advocate for the return by any and all means necessary of the Sydona Isles off the coast of southern continental Ixnay, claiming that they are the historic homeland of the long-forgotten Deep South Coscivians. The Federal INP caucus annually submits an unsolicited nomination for the symbolic post of "Governor-General of the Sydona Isles" to the Prime Executive.

Following the ancient Roman practice of granting tax exemptions to Roman citizens that emigrated to coloniæ, the party seeks greater tax benefits for Kiravian citizens willing to settle in strategic overseas colonies, as well as land grants and low-interest loans for colonists who are veterans of the Kiravian armed forces. It also supports the designation of certain islands or cities as freeports or special business zones to encourage commerce and raise standards of living in the often small and isolated island colonies.

Electoral Performance

Though headquartered in Uruvun, the INP enjoys its best electoral results in the newly-acquired island colonies of the Sakhalins and Crimea. It commands a majority in the Congress of the Sakhalins and holds both of the territory's Stanora seats. In Crimea, the INP is a partner in the United State Party-led coälition.

In 21204, the INP Political Committee completed the legal filings to open a chapter of the party in the Austral-Itapau Islands. The INP gained ballot access and nominated a candidate for the state legislative election that year, but did not actively campaign and recieved only twelve votes.
