Anta Carda, officially the Republic of Anta Carda, is a country in Crona. It is neighbored by XXX, XXX, and XXX.
Etymology
The original Varshani term for the island was Apanca Cuahtla, roughly translated as the barren island; a description that was based on the island's use as a place of exile rather than related a lack of vegetation. The Carto-Pelaxians who settled during the 17th century were unable to pronounce the local dialect so the name morphed over time into Anta Carda.

History
Original settlement
The island of Anta Carda was used for centuries by the Zurgs of Varshan as a place to exile their opponents and other outcasts and caste malcontents not fit for glorious sacrifice. The island's population was left to its own devices provided they did not try to leave, and the island had plentiful resources that the exiles could build communities of their own. Despite the lack of presence of mainland authorities, the islanders maintained their belief of Orthodox Arzalism and the worship of the Death God by sacrificing wild pigs instead of humans. During the Chakor dynasty, the island became part of the appanage reigning Zurg's heir.
