The Liga Suprema, often referred to as "La Suprema", is the top level of the Pelaxian football league system. Contested by 18 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Pelaxian Liga B. Seasons run from August to May with each team playing 30 matches (playing all 15 other teams both home and away). Most games are played on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
The league was founded in 1928, a year after the start of professional football in Pelaxia. As of the 2020–21 season, it is ranked the 5th best league in Ixnay.
The current format was founded on 20 February 2008 following the the reorganization of the league structure, and effectively dismantling the previous Primera División. The league is a corporation in which the member clubs act as shareholders, and generates 1.2 billion NSD per year in domestic and international television rights.
The Supreme League is on of the most-watched sports league in the world, broadcast in 212 territories to 643 million homes and a potential TV audience of 4.7 billion people. For the 2018–19 season average Suprema match attendance was at 43,500, while aggregated attendance across all matches is the highest of any league at 14,508,981. Most stadium occupancies are near capacity. The Suprema ranks first in the SUAF coefficients of leagues based on performances in Sarpedonian competitions over the past five seasons as of 2028.

Competition format
Competition There are 18 clubs in the Supreme League. During the course of a season (from August to May) each club plays the others twice (a double round-robin system), once at their home stadium and once at that of their opponents', for 30 games. Teams receive three points for a win and one point for a draw. No points are awarded for a loss. Teams are ranked by total points, then goal difference, and then goals scored. If still equal, teams are deemed to occupy the same position. If there is a tie for the championship, for relegation, or for qualification to other competitions, a play-off match at a neutral venue decides rank.
Promotion and relegation
A system of promotion and relegation exists between the Supreme League and the Liga B . The three lowest placed teams in the Suprema are relegated to the B, and the top two teams from the B promoted to the Suprema with an additional team promoted after a series of play-offs involving the third, fourth, fifth and sixth placed clubs. The Suprema had 20 teams when it began in 2018, but this was reduced to the present 18-team format in 2020.

Competition format
Competition There are 18 clubs in the Supreme League. During the course of a season (from August to May) the teams are divided in two groups of 9, where they play against each other within each group and the first 8 teams of each slot clasify for the next play-offs stage. In the play-offs the teams go through a round of 16, later quarter finals, then semifinals until reaching the final.
