Parameters
All parameters are optional.
name
- Name of the zoo or aquarium.
logo
- Logo image name to display at a default width of 300px (just the file name, such as "foo.jpg").
logo_width
- width of logo.
logo_caption
- caption for the logo that is displayed underneath the image.
logo_alt
- alt text for the logo.
image
- Image name to display at a default width of 300px (just the file name, such as "foo.jpg").
image_width
- width of image.
image_caption
- caption for the image that is displayed underneath the image.
image_alt
- alt text for the image.
location
- city, state, and country where the zoo is located.
date_opened
- Date the zoo or aquarium opened. alternatively use date_opening for proposed zoos.
date_established
- Date the zoo or aquarium established.
date_opening
- Date the zoo or aquarium will open if the zoo is not yet open.
date_closed
- Date the zoo or aquarium closed.
coordinates
- geographical coordinates (latitude & longitude) of the zoo or aquarium (suggested location is a location and sizing that shows the entire facility when the link is opened), using {{coord}}.
area
- Land area the zoo or aquarium occupies (include units and alternate units).
floorspace
- Floor space in the aquarium (include units and alternate units).
num_animals
- approximate number of animals at the zoo or aquarium (include a reference or year as well).
num_species
- approximate number of unique species at the zoo or aquarium (include a reference or year as well).
largest_tank_vol
- volume of largest aquarium tank.
total_tank_vol
- total volume of all aquarium tanks.
annual_visitors
- number of annual visitors.
members
- Zoo or aquarium association(s) to which the facility belongs (e.g., AZA, EAZA, WAZA). Use {{ZooOrg}} to cite if possible.
exhibits
- A short, comma-delimited list of major exhibits.
owner
- Company or individual(s) which owns the zoo.
publictransit
- The nearest public transport stop.
website
- External link to the zoo's website. Use {{URL}}.

Microformat
The HTML markup produced by this template includes an hCard microformat, which makes the place-name and location parsable by computers, either acting automatically to catalogue articles across Wikipedia, or via a browser tool operated by a person, to (for example) add the subject to an address book. Within the hCard is a Geo microformat, which additionally makes the coordinates (latitude & longitude) parsable, so that they can be, say, looked up on a map, or downloaded to a GPS unit. Sub-templates
If the place or venue has "established", "founded", "opened" or similar dates, use {{start date}} for the earliest of those dates unless the date is before 1583 CE.
If it has a URL, use {{URL}}.
Please do not remove instances of these sub-templates.

Please do not rename or remove these classes nor collapse nested elements which use them.
Precision
When giving coordinates, please use an appropriate level of precision. Do not use {{coord}}'s |name=
parameter.
