The Kingdom of the Mar, alternatively known as the Kingdom of the Vandarch, was a historic state located in the central and northwestern Vandarch Basin in the late Twelfth and early Thirteenth Centuries AD. Centered around the territories of the Mheres, a group of interrelated warlords who rose to power during the Withering, Mar was a contender against the late Kingdom of the Ninerivers and the City of Daingean for control over the northern Vandarch sea throughout its existence. The existence of the Kingdom was nearly synonymous with the duration of the Gap War, which was primarily fought between Mar and Daingean.
