The PANTER (Plataforma ANfibia de Transporte de Ejércitos Rápidos) is a modular vehicle, designed with possible integration options for manned and unmanned turret systems, armed with light and medium calibres as well as 120 mm gun systems.

The modular design allows the PANTER to be role-kitted in order to perform full spectrum missions such as mechanised infantry, reconnaissance, command & control, force protection, medical evacuation, recovery, combat engineering and direct or indirect fire support. The PANTHER also offers an active protection system option against anti-tank missiles.

Development

In the latest analysis paper on the Pelaxian Armed Forces, based on their performance in the Akanatoa War, the need was identified to integrate a new tracked and amphibious armored platform for mechanized units, reconnaissance, and armored infantry combat that could navigate the various complexities of the mostly tropical terrain in western Sarpedon and Vallos.

The aging M113 models and their improved variants from the 80s, 90s, and 2000s have shown significant vulnerabilities in urban combat armor and have reached the limits of their base platform improvements. This became especially evident during the Battle of Imahenda and other engagements in Akanatoa, where armored vehicles had to be deployed in platoons to ensure their survival, and despite this, their destruction rate was extremely high. As a result of this, National Defense Systems approached (EMPRESA DE FANERIA) with a joint work proposal.

Concept

The Pelaxian Army needed a modular tracked armored vehicle, one that could integrate various weapons platforms on its top and carry at least 6 troops in the rear. This vehicle would come in three combat variants: APC, IFV, and RECCE. In its APC variant, it functions as a battle taxi, transporting troops to and from high-intensity combat zones, whether in open fields or urban environments. Under this concept, the vehicle would not operate as a combat vehicle but would provide long-range fire support.

In its IFV configuration, the vehicle would operate as flank support for tank armored formations, facilitating the movement of its anti-armor infantry. In a way, it supports deep direct armored operations and can also act as a screen for heavier armored formations.

The goal is to provide an armored transport that, under the modern army doctrine, can offer:

  1. Transport capability under protection up to 14.5mm calibers
  2. Cross-country capability similar to a Madiodha battle tank
  3. Amphibious capability
  4. Ability to fight, deter, or distract with an acceptable margin of effectiveness and survivability.

Protection

The PANTER is equipped with modular survivability systems to offer an effective solution to the changing threats of the battlefield. It is fitted with protection packages against ballistic, mine, and improvised explosive threats. Armament

Mobility

All those versions are based on the new-generation armored combat vehicle chassis, with a power-to-weight ratio of at least 20 hp/ton (depending on configuration), automatic transmission, and the ability to operate at the same pace as modern main battle tanks.

It has the ability to move at high speed on roads or cross-country terrain and can operate in all kinds of climates. The advanced suspension system is designed to reduce vehicle vibration and increase road holding. It has an open-architecture vehicle electronics infrastructure that allows easy integration of different mission equipment according to requirements.
