preseason_number_1 The team ranked #1 in the pre-season AP Poll and/or the team ranked #1 in the Coaches Poll. (only two major polls with a long history which have preseason rankings) [[2007 Georgia Bulldogs football team|Georgia Bulldogs]]
champions The name of the team(s) that won the National Championship for that season. [[2007 Buffalo Bulls football team|Buffalo Bulls]]
