Avidor Boruch

Avidor Boruch also known as Wang Ming (1582-1665) was a Zorfashazi Jew who served the Qian dynasty as is best known for being the court's Chief Astronomer under emperors Dizong and Baizou. He also founded and served as first director of the Imperial Observatory for forty years. His service as an imperial advisor spanned the reign of three different emperors, of which he personally tutored two. The discovery of the Kalgan planetoid is attributed to him.

He was the first Jew in Qian service to officially be granted a bureaucrat's hat and robe. He became one of the most renowned Jews in service to a Daxian dynasty, many who followed him would play important roles in the development of various scientific fields.
