Shaftonist democracy (Coscivian: Śavtoplānoāritarisēn, Śavtoþérmúāritarisēn) is an ideology within the larger tradition of Shaftonist republicanism seeking to apply Shaftonic ideals and Shaftonist political theory in the context of modern liberal democracy.

Sky blue and teal are the traditional colour of Shaftonist-democratic movements in the Coscivian world.

Shaftonist democracy grew out of the modern Shaftonist political movement anchored in the Renaissance Party and underground networks of dissident intellectuals during Kirosocialism, and gained prominence amid the Mid-Kirosocialist period of political and socio-economic stagnation. It was posited as the vision of the Federalist Republican Alliance and the National Renewal Movement for a post-Kirosocialist future, and remains the main ideological line of the SRA caucus and most of its member-parties to this day.

Shaftonist democracy can be characterised as an approach to politics that combines Shaftonist principles such as ixtévirsa ("higher order"), athnivirsa ("proper order"), uordhiria ("edification"), xarbonara ("continuity"), and valium ("duty"); with political structures and practices typical of Occidental liberal democracy. It can be distinguished from the much older and broader tradition of Shaftonist republicanism (śavtokéaritarisēn), which dates back to the lifetime of Shafto himself and has put forward many different models of republican governance over the centuries, many of which are markedly different from Western forms.
