Thereafter, EO does it's own thing under the Burg banner because it enjoys the protection of the metropolitan Navy and trade connections. After the Audonian colonies fail all the Occidentals who were pushed out mostly moved to EO so by the 1850s it's super Protestant, it's super densly populated. The Protestant work ethic of all these people coupled with the industrial revolution, EO is starting to become the economic engine of Burgundie and leaving Maritime Dericania in second place.

I'm GWs 1 and 2 it is sort of like the US, but not to the same extreme degree, with the rapid industrialization and that trend explodes during Operation Kipling (Vietnam and the Portuguese colonial wars all wrapped up into one). It formally eclipses Metropolitan Burg as the economic power house of the thalassocracy.
