Court membership

The template will automatically add the sitting Justices of each court when given the correct years in the YYYY-YYYY format.

To add the court membership, you need to put in the key from the list below which covers the relevant year in which the court heard the case, not issued the case decision. This will automatically fill in the members of the court for the appropriate year. The syntax is SCC=YEAR-YEAR, e.g., enter "SCC 2006-2008" if the case was heard in 2007.

Note: some courts didn't last more than one year, for those cases, use the same YEAR for both parameters: SCC-2008-2008 (for example). See the key below for reference.

For example: in R. v. Oakes, the case was heard in 1985, so the field in the template:
