Chul Lung Qua was a Daxian businessman, functionary and anti-Catholic activist. A native of provincial Ganshi, he moved with his family to Urcea to pursue business opportunities in the metals trading sector. During his stay his daughter, Wei Fen, secretly converted to Catholicism without obtaining his permission. Mr. Qua went on to sue the Urcean government in Qua v. His Most Christian Majesty's Government to prevent his daughter from gaining asylum, but failed to win in court. Shortly after, he returned to Corumm to start the Anti-Catholic League, a pressure group advocating for the closure of all Catholic institutions in the country. Public outrage over the legal ruling against Qua and the agitation of the League played into the hands of the ruling Party of Daxian Democrats as shortly after it moved to shut down all religious practice in Corumm. He joined the PCD in 1994 and rose to become Second Party Secretary in his native Ganshi and was the supervising functionary present at the closure of the Ganshi Catholic seminary. Chul Lung Qua was a lifetime smoker and would die of complications from lung cancer in 2001 without having met his daughter again.
