Ankae
Ankae is Metzetta's second-largest city, with a population of 3.5 million and an area of 430 square miles. It is one of Metzetta's Metropolitan Cities, which are not part of any province. Historically it was the capital of Daekang. Found on Metzetta's southeast coast, it is the country's most important port.
Etymology
"An" denotes "a place where land and sea meet," while "kae" means "wild." Altogether Ankae is thought to refer to the place where the wild currents of the sea meet the land.
History
Ankae was the capital of Daekang, the ancient kingdom which fell to Meseda-jo in 85 BC.
Geography
Ankae is found on Metzetta's southeast coast.

As well as its connections to the country-wide rail network, Ankae is also served by a subway system, the Ankae Metropolitan Railway.

Ankae is Metzetta's busiest cargo port. Regular ferry services can also be accessed from the city docks for both foot passengers and vehicles. Once a week the Liyu-Korell ferry makes a stop in Ankae.

International Relations
Consular services are available in Ankae for certain countries, these offices function similarly to embassies for citizens, in that they can access services such as visas and emergency passports, but do not usually function as centres for international diplomacy as an embassy would.
