Despite this, the Free Republic era is remembered for not only its instability, but the first formation of the Acirien identity, highlighting the various tribes that made up the Acirien nation. The tumultuous succession of the governments came to an end in 1783 with the establishment of the Grand Empire of Aciria, declared by [[Jean Dupois|Jean I]] after arresting and executing the First Speaker and crowning himself Grand Emperor.
