Proponents cite the increase in trade between Ardmore and [[Urcea]] and the rest of the Empire as evidence of the agreement, arguing that Ardmore repaid the Empire in trade and wealth as well as access to its global colonies. Nearly all scholars and historians have dismissed the bargain as a conspiracy theory with no basis in reality, but it remains a popular history in [[Anglei]] and has colored relations between the two countries since.
