Deng Darro is a Daxian businessman, public servant and white collar criminal. Born in Zhijun in 1988 to members of the island's Daxian elite, Darro attended the prestigious Zhijun Polytechnic before being expelled at age 17 for getting caught selling the answers to the admissions exam. During a brief, patriotic, drug induced haze he proceeded to enlist and was assigned to the Army of Conquest and was subsequently shipped off to Crona. After the briefest stint of frontline duty and several instances of cowardice and poor trigger discipline, his commander relegated him to a desk job. His talent for numbers and eye for detail were recognized by superiors and he was transferred to work at the military-run North Crona Production and Construction Corporation.
Promoted to Director in the company's housing division by 2020, he oversaw the construction of housing for military units and concentration camps for relocated natives. Military prosecutors later alleged he arranged inflated bids for construction contracts and pocketed the difference, becoming known as Mister Twenty-Percent. Its estimated that during his tenure, the schemes he was involved in cost the army up to 3 billion lire. With covert help from his parents, Darro acquired a Stenzan passport, resigned from the military and fled to Rakahanga hidden in a luggage case before criminal charges could be levied against him.
