Alstin and Arcerion have had a long history of [[Arcer-Alstinian Relations|close diplomatic relations]], due to their shared cultural and linguistic heritage, as well as their respective shared areas of responsibility and influence in Southern Crona. The two countries also have had a significant impact on the cultures of many other countries, as they are the two main nodes of the Ænglosphere, with a combined population of just under 400 million in 2028. Arcerion and Alstin collaborate on many areas, but notably the sharing of intelligence, military cooperation, overland trade (via the [[Arco National Railway Service|Arcerion National Railway Service]]) and Mercantile Trade.
Arcerion and Alstin are both members of the [[Cronan Security and Trade Union]] (CSTU), meaning there is close economic ties between the two, with Alstin being the most important non-bordering Cronan trade partner for Arcerion throughout the 2000s. Arcerion had an embassy (Karaba) and consular services (Iraso) prior to the outbreak of the conflict. However, the scale of the conflict was sparked with the assault on a pair of Arco diplomats, and the eventual growth of an insurgent communist rebellion, followed by Arcer military intervention. The result was the eventual collapse of the 20th century Indigenous nation's economy and society, and while the Populist Government managed to hold out and maintain its grip on power, Arcerion severed political ties in 1961 with the closure of both offices.
