The [[Fort of Kæn]] is a sea fortress guarding the entrance to the port of [[Kæn]], protecting the port and the city of [[Kæn]] from invasions launched from the sea. The fortress is located on the [[Fortress Island (Kæn)|Fortress Island]] in the [[Gulf of Kæn]] and it is a part and the headquarters of the Farmandies chain of coastal forts and coastal artillery/missile stations. The plan to design and build the [[Fort of Kæn]] to protect the [[Gulf of Kæn]] was decided on [[1792]] by the [[Counsil of Elders]] and the fort started as a small wooden defensive position armed with several artillery batteries to engage ships entering the gulf.
