The Wipe was an event that occurred in August of 2020, when perfidious and altogether untrustworthy server hosts perpetuated a {{wp|crime against humanity}} against IxWiki by unceremoniously canceling its hosting service and summarily deleting its content. This incident was a major blow to the Lore War as many thousands of bytes were lost. The Wipe lead to a major loss of confidence in the continuation of canon given its occurrence at a low ebb of activity coinciding with the {{wp|COVID-19}} pandemic. However, quick-thinking rescue efforts saved a majority of lore from Google cache ensuring that canon would be able to continue. The Wipe functionally ended the Loreward Phase of the Lore War as the Order of the Lore information was entirely lost. | |||
