The Department of Energy and Mineral Resources (CEMR) is a federal cabinet department of Cartadania responsible for regulating and maintaining the country's nuclear weapons program, nuclear reactor production for the Cartadanian Navy, energy conservation, energy-related research, radioactive waste disposal, and domestic energy production. It is also responsible for conducting scientific research and disseminating information on the extraction, processing, use, and conservation of mineral resources within the country.

Power grid
The electrical power grid that powers Cartadania is vast. It is not a single grid, but is instead divided into three wide area synchronous grids. The Central Interconnection is the largest, providing power to nearly 200 million people. The other two regions are the Western Interconnection, which covers the territory annexed from Vachena, and the Eastern Interconnection, which covers the entirety of Urlazio, including the Caphirian provinces of Caenna, Cesindes, Iscasta, Luria, Netharra, Ovalutia, and Salbis (although these provinces are overseen by the Caphirian Ministry of Infrastructure and not CEMR). Each region delivers power at a nominal 60 Hz frequency. The three regions are not usually directly connected or synchronized to each other, but there are some HVDC Interconnectors.
Cartadanian ERC
The specific office responsible for the regulation of the power grid is the Cartadanian Electric Reliability Commission (Cartadanian: Comissão Cartadaniana de Confiabilidade Eléctrica) (CCCE, stylized C³E). The commission was created for the electric utility industry to promote the reliability and adequacy of bulk power transmission in the electric utility systems of Cartadania. Its major responsibilities include working with all involved parties to develop standards for power system operation, monitoring and enforcing compliance with those standards, assessing resource adequacy, and providing educational and training resources as part of an accreditation program to ensure power system operators remain qualified and proficient. CCCE also investigates and analyzes the causes of significant power system disturbances in order to help prevent future events.
