It is generally prohibited to serve, sell or supply any beverage containing spirits and foods containing spirits above negligible amounts, to anyone under the age of 18 years. Violators of this provision can be fined up to €10,000. The exception to this rule is that a person under 18 may consume alcohol in private, regardless of if a spirit or fermented, under the supervision of a parent, legal guardian, or spouse.
