Áine, Beth Qua
Beth Áine (born Wei Fen Qua; born 18 January 1974) is a Urcean public official who currently serves as the Deputy Royal Administrator. Born in Corumm, her conversion to Catholicism at 15 while her family was on business in Urcea and subsequent request to be granted asylum in Urcea caused a socio-political sensation and lead to the landmark legal case Qua v. His Most Christian Majesty's Government when her father sued the Government of Urcea. Baptized as Elizabeth, the remainder of Qua's minority was spent with state-sponsored tutors as she managed to live on her own in Urceopolis, going on to attend the Collegium Scientificum. At the Collegium, she met her future husband Colus Áine, and studied political science. Following her marriage to Áine in 1997, Áine managed to use the notoriety of her case to start a political career. Serving as a member of the Royal Parliament of the Archduchy of Urceopolis from 2000 through 2015 as a member of the National Democratic Party, Áine became associated with the policies of Michael Witte and Wittonian Socialism. Although she lost reelection in the 2015 Urcean elections, she was appointed Deputy Royal Administrator following the Union for National Solidarity's victories in the 2020 Urcean election.
