Historically, the language of Lucrecia's elites was Pelaxian, it having displaced [[Emeritan Latin|Latin]] during the years under [[Pelaxia|Pelaxian]] suzerainty. During this time, the Isurian language was seen as the language of peasants, with many high-class Isurians opting to learn Pelaxian so as to retain their status.
