Montecarlo borders Siena, Ferara, and Luca to the west and north, and Pelaxia to the east and south. The state is, generally, geographically flat and owing to its size, has very little variation in terrain. Despite this, the state is quite biodiverse. It extends from a small inlet of the Kindreds Sea, often referred to as the Bay of Siena, into the forested and savannah areas of Central Cartadania. The population is heavily concentrated in the southern portion of the state.

Montecarlo is known for having the highest concentration of millionaire individuals per capita than any other state in Cartadania, with Clairmonte having the most per capita of any city.
