Intrepid Enterprises (Burgoignesc: Entreprises Intrépide) is a Private Military Company, officially styled as a security company, founded in Yonderre in 2005 by Ulrich Digarde, a former colonel of the Yonderian Defence Force. Intrepid Enterprises provides a suite of security and military services on land, sea and air on contractual basis to both state and non-state actors. Intreprid Enterprises has been categorized by critics as a private army and has been under criticism for not conforming to the laws of war on multiple occasions. Intrepid Enterprises also runs a number of training camps in Yonderre for both government and non-government security and paramilitary forces to hone their skills.

Intrepid Enterprises has been involved in the Deluge since 2008 and the Burgoignesc-led anti-piracy Operation Khyzer Rhykh since 2010 fulfilling various tasks. Beginning in 2018, Intrepid Enterprises signed on to a major contract with the Yonderian Defence Force for policing and security actions on the YDF-manned LOTA airbase in New Harren. Intrepid Enterprises was also directly involved militarily in Cetsencalia and Quetzenkel during the Final War of the Deluge.

Intrepid Enterprises came to notoriety in 2011 when footage surfaced of their contractors sinking a pirate ship with all hands lost in the Puhktun Sea after having first captured and disarmed the aforementioned pirates. Although their actions were legal in accordance with Yonderian laws, the company came under harsh criticism internationally, with motions put in place to limit mercenaries in warzones.

History

Background

Intrepid Enterprises was formed in 2005 by Ulrich Digarde, a former Colonel of the elite DELTA special forces unit of the Yonderian Defence Force. Backed by Yonderian investors including NOVA, Digarde recruited chiefly former and current YDF servicemen to form the company's initial cadre, with which he would train new contractors.

Intrepid Enterprises was directly involved militarily in Cetsencalia and Quetzenkel during the Final War of the Deluge. The company was notable in its ability to provide all aspects of a highly trained modern army to the less professional militia forces of Cetsencalia. For instance, in Cetsencalia, Intrepid Enterprises fielded not only professional fighting men, but armour and support aircraft such as AMS-72 combat helicopters, infantry fighting vehicles and AMY-40 main battle tanks. In Quetzenkel, IE contractors operated in the role of frontline advisors, fire and movement coordinators and forward air controllers providing guidance to close air support.

Policing and security

Inrepid Enterprises offers a suite of training and practical solutions in the field of policing and security, having headhunted high profile and excellent police officers of the Custodes Yonderre. Notably, Intrepid Enterprises signed a contract in 2018 with the Yonderian Defence Force for policing and security actions on the YDF-manned LOTA airbase in New Harren, providing base security. On sea, Intrepid Enterprises has at various times chartered with civillian transport and haulage companies as on-board guards, particularly in and around the Puhktun Sea.

Military

Intrepid Enterprises has at its disposal a large arsenal of military equipment, expertise and experience with which to conduct military operations. The company operates at least five AMY-40 main battle tanks and a larger number of armoured personnel carriers, as well as a wide variety of utility vehicles and technicals. Intrepid Enterprises also has air support in the shape of at least six AMS-72 combat helicopters and two FS-75 CAS jet fighter-bombers. Intrepid Enterprises also has a number of smaller, fast sea-going vessels and landing craft at it's disposal.

Training

Intrepid Enterprises runs a number of training camps in Yonderre for both government and non-government security and paramilitary forces to hone their skills, the largest of which is Intrepid Training Center which offers tactics and weapons training to military, government, and law enforcement agencies. ITC also offers several open-enrollment courses periodically throughout the year, from hand to hand combat (executive course) to precision rifle marksmanship. They also offer courses in tactical and off-road driving. ITC's primary training facility, located on 7,000 acres (28 km2) in northeastern Vandarcôte, comprises several ranges, indoor, outdoor, urban reproductions, a man-made lake, and a driving track.
