Protocols Act of 2023

Revision as of 11:03, 14 September 2021 by Urcea (talk | contribs)

The Protocols Act of 2023 is an act of the Concilium Daoni which changed the relationship between Urcea and full members of the Nysdra Sea Treaty Association, which was also amended to reflect the Protocols Act. The Act, which amended the Diplomatic Law and the Foreign Dependencies Law, allows the Ministries of the Concilium Purpaidá to directly interact with full members of NSTA without need of diplomatic protocol or use of the Ministry of State as an intermediary. The act was intended to, in the words of the legislation's sponsor, "more fully integrate the economic and social direction of NSTA members towards the goal of mutual prosperity and security". The bill passed the Concilium Daoni by a vote of 432-40 on March 8th, 2023.

Criticism

The Act was subject of significant criticism from the Social Labor Party, which characterized the Act as a "clear signal of Urcean imperialism, presuming that our Ministries may directly govern other nominally sovereign states". All members of the Social Labor Party voted against the measure.
