Soran Akēvarin was a Kiravian labour leader, politican, writer, and educator. He is best known for being the only Kirosocialist Delegate to the Federal Stanora to vote against the constitutional reforms of 21146 that replaced the Kiravian Federal Republic with the Kiravian Union. Though little more than a footnote in mainstream Kiravian history, he is regarded as an icon by Kiravian social democrats and a founding figure of Kirosocial democracy.

Akēvarin was born in [YEAR] in County Śavanon, Vôtaska, as the second son of an ethnic Norborian Coscivian family with ancestral roots in Etivéra. Akēvarin's parents were smallholding farmers of modest means. He was largely self-educated past secondary school and worked at a paper mill. He became a leader in the Brotherhood of Pulp & Paper Workers and also held positions in the PKCTU.

Akēvarin was elected to the Federal Stanora as part of the Vôtaskan delegation. Though a passionate Kirosocialist, he objected to the authoritarian tendencies being taken on by the party and opposed the introduction of single-party rule. When the resolutions to promulgate the Constitution of the Kiravian Union were brought to a vote, Akēvarin voted nay. He was expelled from the Party the next day and was held to have automatically vacated his seat that midnight when the new constitution took effect and transformed the Stanora into the single-party Supreme Soviet.

Akēvarin was invited to continue his tenure with the rump Stanora-in-exile in Æonara and accepted, moving to Sirana. However, he quickly grew disgruntled as the lone Kirosocialist in a legislature dominated by the Renaissance Party and conservatives, and was profoundly bothered by the influence of right-wing military officers over the government-in-exile. Nonetheless, he continued to serve in the rump Stanora as he needed the money to support himself and his family. When the Stanora suspended payment of salaries to its members in [YEAR], Akēvarin did not resign his seat but simply stopped attending meetings, as did a number of other Delegates.

In [YEAR], he returned to Great Kirav (still under Kirosocialist rule) and obtained a teaching job at a secondary school in [City], Vôtaska. He continued his writing on "democratic Kirosocialism" and labour issues pseudonymously in underground publications. He died in [YEAR] from an unspecified bladder illness.

Akēvarin's daughter Teraya, who left Æonara before him and had joined the Kirosocialist Party in order to be approved for postgraduate studies on the mainland, is an adult literacy instructor and retired community organiser in Béyasar. She continued her father's political legacy after the end of the Kiravian Union and served two terms in the Fariva state legislature as a member of the post-Kirosocialist and Kirosocial-democratic New Direction Party.
