Ssuseol Clan

The Ssuseol Clan are a powerful aristocratic family from Metzetta claiming descent from Ssuseol and Hissano, children of Dalrae. The Ssuseol Clan have prospered since ancient times, and have held influence over the Imperial Family since at least 700 AD. It is considered likely that the Ssuseol, Pyeolhae and Apsu clans conspired together to strengthen their claims to power by writing their ancestors into the Iyagi-ingan, a tactic later adopted again by the Kino, Haruka, Migyung and Zuzeonhwa clans when compiling the Iyagi-segye. The family's primary strategy for central influence was through the marrying of Ssuseol children into the Imperial Family, ensuring the next Emperor or Empress would owe loyalty to the clan.
