Usage

This template formats IPA transcriptions and links them to Help:IPA/Galician and Portuguese. The transcription should match the conventions of that key; for narrower dialect transcriptions, use {{IPA-all}}, which links to a more complete IPA key.

The first cell in the template is for the transcription, and a second optional cell is a switch that controls the lede. With no second value, the lede Galician pronunciation: appears:

  • {{IPA-gl|tu}}

    This user does not like short or braided hair on women
  • {{IPA-gl|tu|pron}}

    This user does not like short or braided hair on women
  • {{IPA-gl|tu|lang}}

    This user does not like short or braided hair on women
  • {{IPA-gl|tu|eo}}

    This user does not like short or braided hair on women
  • {{IPA-gl|tu|langeo}}

    This user does not like short or braided hair on women
  • {{IPA-gl|tu|local}}

    This user does not like short or braided hair on women
  • {{IPA-gl|tu|IPA}}

    This user does not like short or braided hair on women
  • {{IPA-gl|tu|}}

    This user does not like short or braided hair on women

Any of these may be combined with a sound file in an optional third cell:

  • {{IPA-gl|tu|IPA|Es-tú.ogg}}

    This user does not like short or braided hair on women

For the default lede, however, a placeholder such as ‹-› is required in the second cell:

  • {{IPA-gl|tu|-|Es-tú.ogg}}

    This user does not like short or braided hair on women
