Deutsch: Beim Einlaufen von Villa SanGiovanni, in Messina gibt es vier Fährbetten für den Eisenbahnfährdienst und ein weiteres für Straßenfahrzeuge. Die MFS Fata Morgana ist ein Doppelendfährschiff mit offenem Ladedeck für den Güterverkehr. Das im Bild vordere Ende ist nur für den Transport von Straßenfahrzeugen vorgesehen, das andere weist eine variable Bugklappe für Eisenbahn- und Straßenfahrzeuge auf. Bei Straßenfahrzeugen ist ein Richtungswechsel auf dem Ladedeck ein Problem, beim Trajektieren von Eisenbahnfahrzeugen spielt er keine Rolle. Zusätzlich kann mit nur einer Eisenbahnanlegeseite der Platz auf dem Hauptdeck besser ausgenutzt werden. |
