Artillerie um die Mitte des 16. Jahrhunderts

nach dem Kriegsbuch des Reinhard von Solms

Beschreibung nach Essenwein: Quellen zur Geschichte der Feuerwaffen:
1. Doppel Karthaune: Länge das 17fache ihres Kalibers; Gewicht 80 Zentner, schießt 70 Pfund Eisen
2. a.b.: Steinbüchse mit Hinterladungssystem "Solche stück sind gut in den befestungen, da man nit vil platz hat sie umb zuwenden, und forn einladen muß, deßgleichen auff den Schiffen, und schießen stein un nit eisen, bedörffen nit fouil puluers zu lade als wenn sie eisen schössen, und dörffen die stück auch nit so dick sein als die eisen schiessen"
3. Notschlange. Länge das 42fache ihres Kalibers; Gewicht 66 Zentner; schießt 16 Pfund Eisen
4. Quartier- oder halbe Schlange. Länge: das 34 fache ihres Kalibers; Gewicht 24 Zentner;schießt 7 Pfund Eißen.
5. Falkon. Länge: das 40fache ihres Kalibers ; Gewicht 15 Zentner; schießt 2 Pfund Eisen.
6. Falkonet oder Feldschänglein. Länge das 44fache ihres Kalibers; Gewicht 6 Zentner; schießt 1 Pfund Eisen
