The Kharan-dun Khanate, more commonly know as Kharan-dun or Kharan, is one of the largest nations in Southern Punth. Since the anti-communist coup in 1966, Kharan-dun has maintained strong relations with several of it's neighbors and a few overseas powers. Most notably is Kharan's strong ties with Burgundie who supported the coup that led to the eradication of the communist state. Kharan-dun is a Khanate, this is because it's current leader, Tuloi Maeda styles himself as a Khan just like the ancient leaders of his people before the formation of Kharan-dun.
