Membership and Awards

The Order of the Lore has four standard awards that it gives out. Any recipient of an award is a member of the order 'ex officio'. There are also three frequency incentives that it maintains as well, they are: the palme de bronze (Eng: Bronze Palm)WikiProject Scouting BSA Eagle Bronze Palm.svg, palme d'argent (Eng: Silver Palm) WikiProject Scouting BSA Eagle Silver Palm.svg, palme d'or (Eng: Gold Palm) WikiProject Scouting BSA Eagle Gold Palm.svg, the palme de platine (Eng: Platinum Palm) WikiProject Scouting BSA Eagle Silver Palm.svg, and the palme de platine avec diamant (Eng: Platinum Palm with diamond) WikiProject Scouting BSA Eagle Silver Palm.svg. These palms are awarded to members who have received the same Loreward 5, 25, 50, 100 and 500 times respectively. The palms are worn on the Burgundian Cross of the award, horizontally. Members are allowed to display up to three palms on the Loreward to which it is attached. While it not specifically called out, it is typical for members to wear the three highest palms.

Within the Order, there is a secret society known as the Sacrosanctum of Elan. Very little is known about the Sacrosanctum beyond the fact that Burg is the Supreme Wizard. Membership is known only to those privileged to be a part of the society. Members are suspected of being puppet masters and manipulators of lore related activity in Ixnay.

Criteria for Inclusion

Daily Loreward

The level with the most stringent criteria, the daily loreward is given to the member who has contributed the most in any given day but must have contributed at least 1000 bytes of new information. Therefore, revisions that are movements of large amounts of information from one page to another are disqualified.

In the event that there is not sufficient activity, no award will be awarded.

Weekly Loreward

The Weekly Loreward is slightly more subjective but is still given to the member who has contributed the most, or has contributed significantly to the regional lore, or has contributed the most to IxWiki in a given week. The final decision is up to the Grand Master of the Order, but can be appealed, see Appealing a Ruling. The week is defined as Sunday through Saturday.

In the event that there is not sufficient activity, no award will be awarded.

Monthly Loreward

The Monthly Loreward is given to the member who has contributed the most, or has contributed significantly to the regional lore, or has contributed the most to IxWiki in a given month. The final decision is up to the Grand Master of the Order, but can be appealed, see Appealing a Ruling. The month is defined as a calendar month.

Every month will have a loreward awarded, regardless of the level of activity.

Annual Loreward

The Annual Loreward is given to the member who has contributed the most, or has contributed significantly to the regional lore, or has contributed the most to IxWiki in a given year. The final decision is up to the Grand Master of the Order, but can be appealed, see Appealing a Ruling. The annum is defined as a Burgundian Lore Year (BLY) (3/18/X-3/17/X+1).

Unlike all other lorewards, the Annual Loreward may be subject to nominations by the active membership, but this is subject to a final ruling by the Grand Master of the Order. Another exception is that the Annual Loreward is the only loreward that can be given to a Previous Member regardless of their current standing in the community.

Every year will have a loreward awarded, regardless of the level of activity.

Criteria for Exclusion

Current and acting officers of the Order, namely the Grand Master of the Order, are ineligible from receiving any lorewards. The one exception is if a petition (verbal or written) of any number of the active membership is raised to the officers of the Order. In that situation, the officers may choose to adhere to the will of the membership, or conduct a coup d'humilité and dismiss the petition in favor of a member.

Appealing a Ruling

In the event a member feels a grievance has been committed they are entitled to address the Grand Master of the Order in public to ensure a fair resolution has been made.
